Biography

James was born at sea en-route to America in about 1760. His parents were of Scotch/Irish descent. James Rea appeared on multiple Pennsylvania, U.S., Septennial Census records (1779, 1786, 1793, 1800) and also on the tax rolls. James married Catharine Foster some time before 1783 (before the birth of their children). James Sr and James Jr both appeared on the 1790 census in Sadsbury, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. James died 1/8/1848 in Pennsylvania and is buried with family members in the Bellevue Presbyterian Cemetery in Gap, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [1]
