William Reagan is a Mississippian by birth, and first saw the light of day in Itawamba County on August 28, 1846, being a son of Alexander C. Reagan and brother of James W. Reagan , whose sketch appears In this history. William Reagan removed with his father to Texas in 1851, and in Robertson County grew to manhood, enlisting from there in 1862 in the First Cavalry Brigade and served until the close of the war, after which he returned to his home In Texas, but from there removed to Louisiana in 1867, locating In Ward 1 of what is now Webster Parish, in the month of January. He purchased his present improved farm in February, 1886, and has cleared and improved it to a great extent, it being now one of the finest kept places in the parish. Of his 410 acres he has 100 acres under cultivation. He was married December 14, 1869, to Mary Frances Anderson, a daughter of W. A. and Lucretia Anderson. Mrs. Reagan was born in Arkansas, but was reared in Louisiana, and has borne her husband six children: Mary Marguerite, Webb P., James W., Sallie L., Claude Douglas and John W. Mr. and Mrs. Reagan are members of the Methodist Episcopal Church, the former being a member of the Farmers' Union and lecturer of his local union. He also belongs to the Masonic fraternity, being a Master Mason in Minden Lodge. He is a man who at all times endeavors to do as he would be done by, and as a result his friends are numerous.
