2nd Lt Thaddeus Ream served in the United States Civil War. Enlisted: Apr 22, 1861 Mustered out: Jan 17, 1863 Side: USA Regiment(s): 17th Ohio Infantry and 58th Ohio Infantry
Thaddeus Hector Ream first enlisted in the Union Army on 22 April 1861 as a corporal in Company A, 17th Ohio Infantry.  He mustered out on 15 August 1861 to join Company H, 58th Ohio Infantry as the first sergeant.  The second enlistment was on 5 October 1861  and he joined the 58th Ohio on 12 December 1861.  He was wounded at Shiloh, Tennessee on 7 April 1862.  His promotion to 2nd Lieutenant was effective 3 October 1862.  He resigned on 17 January 1863. 
He registered for the draft in June 1863 from Bern Township, Fairfield County, Ohio, mistakenly listed as Hector H. Ream, age 26, boatman, unmarried, and listing his prior service with the 58th OVI, 2nd Lieutenant.
