Sabra/Sabara passed away at Victoria Hospital in Fredericton, New Brunswick on Mar 21, 1958, age 82. Her parents are identified as Thomas Rector and Margaret Manuge, and she was the widow of Matthew McWhirter. The informant on the record was (nephew) Jack Rector of Waterloo Row in Fredericton, where it appears she had been living 6 months prior to her demise. The record further states that she was to be returned to River Hébert for burial on Mar 24, 1958.[3]

(Amherst Daily News, Saturday Mar 22, 1958) The death occurred Friday of Mrs. Sabara MCWHIRTER of Fredericton, N.B. She was the widow of the late Matthew McWhirter, who predeceased her several years ago. She was formerly a resident of River Hebert. Her remains will arrive in Amherst by rail late Saturday afternoon and will rest at Furlong's Funeral Home until Monday noon. The funeral service will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the United Church at River Hebert. Interment in the Church cemetery.
