Otis Redding was born in Georgia in 1941. He was the child of Rev. Otis Redding Sr. and Fannie Mae Roseman. He was a noted soul singer, performer, and recording artist whose most famous song "Dock of the Bay" was number 1 on the pop charts in 1968 (posthumously). He died in Wisconsin at the age of 26 when the plane he was traveling on crashed on the way to Madison, Wisconsin.
