Captain and Deacon Rufus Reed/Reid, son of Benjamin Belcher Reed and Lucy DeWolf, was born[1] on December 5th of 1806 in Granville Ferry, Annapolis Royal, Annapolis, Nova Scotia

Rufus married Rebecca West on November 13th of 1828 in New Brunswick.[2]

  5. Margaret Reid (1839-1904)
  6. Annie Kezia Reid (1843-__)

At the time of the 1851 Canada East, Canada West, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia Census, Rufus, Rebecca, Lucy, Benjamin, Harris, Miner, Margaret, and Kezia Anna Reed were listed as living in Harvey, New Brunswick.[3] The census lists Rufus' occupation as "Farmer & Mariner (prop)".

1881 Census [4] age 74 and living in the household of son Miner Reid in Harvey, Albert, New Brunswick, Canada.

Rufus passed away on May 3rd of 1886 in Harvey, Albert, New Brunswick, Canada.

Burial: Bay View Cemetery in (Mary's Point) Harvey, Albert County, New Brunswick, Canada. [5]
