Biography

Norman was born in 1881. He passed away in 1956. He married Anna Jennette Harrison on 5 Aug 1913 in Berkeley, Alameda, California. Norman and Anna did not have any children.

Obituary: Norman Winfiled Reed, 75, died at 6:30 a.m. yesterday at his home at 960 Thompson Lane after an illness of the past 10 weeks. He was the husband of Anna J. Reed.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Sorensen's Funeral Home. Internment will be at Cypress Hill Memorial Park.

Mr. Reed was born in Pontiac, Mich. In 1887(sic) he went with his family to Santa Barbara where he attended School. He graduated with a mechanical arts degree in 1901 from Lick School in San Francisco and five years later he furthered his education by taking an electrical engineering course at the University of California.

He was married in 1913 and two years later the couple located in San Francisco and then in Petaluma where Mr. Reed operated a poultry farm.

He was the brother of Lewis Reed of Glendale and Fannie S. Reed of Santa Barbara.

Mr. Reed was a member of the Congregational Church, the Sons of American Revolution and at one time served on the Board of Underwriters of the Pacific Coast. The Petaluma Argus-Courier, Mar 5, 1956, pg 2
