Biography

Rolman was born July 20, 1892 at Helenwood in Scott County, Tennessee. He was the son of Wiley Reed and Savarie Jane ( Ellis ) Reed . Rolman married Pearl Newport on June 15, 1919 at Huntsville in Scott County. He passed away on June 13, 1972 at the Scott County Nursing Home in Oneida, Scott County.

Obituary,

Rolman Reed, 79, of New River, passed away at the Scott County Nursing Home Tuesday. He was the son of the late Wiley Reed and the late Sophia Ellis Reed, a member of the Helenwood Baptist Church, a veteran of WWI, and a 32nd Degree Mason of Robbins Masonic Lodge 670 F &AM. Survivors, one daughter, Mrs. Freda Mae Davis of New River, three sons, Warren Reed of Helenwood, Kennedy Reed of Rt. 1, Oneida, George Herman Reed of New River, one brother, Millard Reed of Helenwood, two sisters, Lozella Cruell of Detroit, Michigan, Zenia Phillips of Helenwood, eleven grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from the West Funeral H0me Chapel 1 p.m. Friday with Rev. Carl Jeffers officiating. Burial will follow in the Reed Cemetery, New River.
