Biography

Arthur was born on December 30, 1906.^[1][2][3] He was the son of Solomon Reed and Mary Phillips.^[2] He was a Diesel Engineer.^[3] He married a woman named Emma Francis.^[1][3]. They had sons, Earl and Kenneth.^[4][3] He drowned on March 20, 1949 when he fell off the boat on which he was working.^[3][4] He was buried in Oak Grove Cemetary, Paducah, Kentucky.^[3][5]

• He is in the U.S. Marine Hospital in 1940. Does that mean he was a U.S. Marine at some point before this?^[8]

• 1930 Census - The family has the wrong last name - Parks instead of Reed, but the town and first names match the 1920 census, and the ages are about 10 years older than 1920. The daughter Althea's husband and oldest daughter are listed in the household. Therefore, it reasonably certain this is the correct household.^[7]
