Robert Reed was born circa 1730, in County Donegal Ireland. Robert immigrated to Westmoreland county, Pennsylvania, where he paid supply tax, in 1783, to help the Continental Congress pay the national debt. [1]
Robert is honored for his Patriotic Service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A094639. DAR records indicate that he died in 1796, in Fairfield Township, Westmoreland county, Pennsylvania, and that his wife's name was Mary Pomeroy. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by his son, Robert, Jr. who married Sarah "Sally" Clifford. [2]
Robert Reed is buried in the Camp Fairfield Cemetery, aka Fairfield Cemetery, in Fairfield, Westmoreland county, Pennsylvania. [3]
