Biography

Harrison Reed was born 5 Jul 1815 in Virginia.

His grave memorial includes a biography. This biography supposes that he was born in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and says that his father Theophilus was born in Wayne County, New York, and his older brother Nathan was also born in New York.

Harrison Reed and Eliza Cordell were married 17 Apr 1839 in Shelby County, Ohio.[1]

In 1840 he was living in Montgomery County, Ohio.[2] The household included 1 male under age 5, 1 male age 15 to 19, 1 male age 20 to 29 and 1 female age 20 to 29.

In 1850 he was living in Oregon, Schuyler, Illinois.[3] The household included Harrison Reed age 34 born in Virginia, Eliza Reed age 35 born in Virginia, Presley Reed age 11 born in Ohio, Marietta Reed age 7 born in Ohio, A*I Reed age 6 born in Ohio, William Reed age 5 born in Ohio, Ann E Reed age 3 born in Illinois and Washington Reed age 1 born in Illinois. Harrison was a cooper.

Harrison was a farmer.

In 1880 he was living in Greenwood, Franklin, Kansas.[8] The household included Harrison Reed age 64 born in Virginia, wife Eliza Reed age 65 born in Virginia, daughter Lucinda Reed age 21 born in Illinois, granddaughter Ella Crozier age 5 born in Kansas, granddaughter Anna Kelsey age 3 born in Michigan and Charles Cedars age 16 born in Sweden. Harrison was a farmer; his parents were born in New York. Eliza was keeping house; her parents were born in Virginia. Charles worked on the farm.

In 1885 he was living in Greenwood, Franklin, Kansas.[9] The household included Harrison Reed age 69 born in Virginia, Eliza Reed age 70 born in Virginia and Ellis Crosier age 10 born in Kansas. Harrison was a farmer.

He died 9 Oct 1885 in Greenwood, Franklin, Kansas.

He is buried in Greenwood Baptist Church Cemetery, Franklin County, Kansas.[10]
