Biography

John R Reeder born 1845, the son of Anna Hoskins and Thomas Reeder of Pike County Illinois. Husband to Mary A Wilkins. Parent of five children. After the death of his wife he went West and resided with his son Charles Reeder of Grant County, Washington. He was 76 when he passed in 1922.

Grant County,Washington Journal, Sept. 15, 1922 Obituary JOHN REEDER DIES John Reeder, father of Chas. Reeder of this city, died suddenly on Saturday evening at six fifteen o'clock of heart failure. He was in his usual good health during the day but towards evening was striken (sic) and in spite of all medical attention possible rapidly sank away.

Mr. Reeder was born in Pike county, Illinois, seventy-six years ago. He came west some years later and resided with his son, Chas. at Ephrata and his son William at Washtucna. He endeared himself to all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance and was a man of outstanding character. Left to mourn his passing are his son Chas. of Ephrata, William C. of Washtucna and a daughter, Mrs. Anna Reed of Barry, Illinois.

The body was shipped Monday evening to Barry, Illinois to rest beside that of his beloved wife who passed on before some years ago. The sympathy of the entire community is with Mr. Reeder and family in their great lost.
