DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Joseph by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Joseph:

Hi Suzan, I know it might seem a bit arbitrary but on WikiTree we expect more reliable sources than just an Ancestry.com family tree for all pre-1700 profiles. See here https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles

I know that Ancestry.com can have sources that are considered reliable and if that is the case for this profile and his parents and other family relations, then it is a good idea to give some more detail instead of just citing ancestry.

Thank you for assisting to build WikiTree. John
