Biography

William Reeve was born on 18 May 1906. He was the son of Captain John Reeve and Sybil Oldfield.

He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England and at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.

He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1947 in the service of the Grenadier Guards.

He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lincolnshire; he held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Lincolnshire in 1950 and he held the office of High Sheriff of Lincolnshire in 1957.

William married Merial Catherine Dalrymple Dalrymple-White (daughter of Sir Godfrey Dalrymple Dalrymple-White, 1st Bt. and Hon. Catherine Mary Cary) on 15 April 1936 at Westminster St. Margaret, London, England.[1]

They had 3 children;

1- John Reeve b. 12 Jan 1937
2-Christopher William Reeve b. 2 Apr 1944
3- Peter Richard Reeve b. 15 Jun 1947

He died on 11 January 1993 at age 86.
