Frederic Aidan Reeve was born on 16th November 1907 at Annandale, New South Wales, Australia. He was the only son of Rev'd Frederick Reeve and Florence Pockley.[1] On 23rd February 1909, the family moved from Annandale, in Sydney's inner southern suburbs, to Mosman, on the north shore, following Kathleen's father induction as Rector of St Luke's Church Mosman.
Tim, as he was known, had been a resident of Forbes, New South Wales for some time prior to 1939.
Tim became a civil pilot and was working out of England when the Second World War started; making weekly crossings from England to Lisbon, as a member of the crew of the British-Overseas Airways Corporation flying boat. Initially, his application to enlist in the Royal Air Force was unsuccessful because he was in an essential service.[2]
He served in the Royal Australian Air Force during the Second World War and for a period afterward, not being discharged until 1st July 1947.[3]
He married Joan Driffield in 1943 at North Sydney, New South Wales.[4]
