Charles Reeves was born at 50, Hermit Road, Canning Town, London in April 1895.[1] He was the son of John Reeves and Eliza Hall He was the youngest of Eliza's children, she died when he almost two years old. Charles was always known as Wag. In 1911 he emigrated to Australia with his father, step mother and other members of the family. They arrived in Sydney, New South Wales on July 6, 1911. The name of the ship they sailed in was Otway, it was made in Glasgow and they sailed from the Port of London, England. In 1920 most of the family, including Charles, returned to England, on board the SS Osterley. They sailed from Brisbane and arrived in London on September 3, 1920. (See passenger list in images) They returned to Australia within 6 months, arriving back in April 1921. They settled in Kyogle, New South Wales, Australia. On September 1, 1921 Wag married Frances Lillian Cannon at Kyogle and they had two sons. Wag died on June 12, 1980 in Kyogle, New South Wales, Australia and was buried in Kyogle cemetery.
