Biography

Percy Alfred Reeves was always known as Sam after all the paternal Samuels in his line! He worked in Brockenhurst for Chalk's until the Second World War, when he joined the 5th Battalion Coldstream Guards, in Normandy, France, he was hit by a High Explosive shell and smalls arms fire, as a result he lost a leg, when demobbed he worked for the Post Office.

His death certificate gives his birth place as Lymington, presumably he was born in hospital in Lymington, being the nearest town to Brockenhurst where the family lived.
