Biography

Hannah was born on 9 May 1805 and was baptised on 19 May 1805 at Calne, Wiltshire[1]. She was the daughter of Daniel Reeves and his wife Elizabeth Clifford.

She married William Thomas Haddrill on 27 December 1824 at Blackland, Wiltshire[2]. The Witnesses were George Archard and George Carpenter.

Hannah and her husband William had two children George and Ann when they emigrated from England to the Swan River Settlement of Western Australia, Australia, arriving on 1 February 1831 on the ship Drummore. The Drummore was a 298 tonne sailing ship carrying 5 guns. She sailed from Leith in Ireland on July 19, 1830 and travelled via the Cape of Good Hope and Isle of France on her way to the Swan River Colony and Hobart Town. Captain P. Petrie was in command and besides a crew of 19, she carried general cargo and 61 passengers[3].

They settled in Albion Town in Western Australia, and had seven more children after their arrival:

  1. Louisa Haddrill (b. 19 May 1832, d. 29 Oct 1832)
  2. Thomas Daniel Haddrill (b. 27 Mar 1835, d. 23 Mar 1889)
  3. Louisa Haddrill (b. 17 Jan 1838, d. 1862)
  4. Elizabeth Haddrill (b. 28 Jul 1840, d. 20 Nov 1902)
  5. James Haddrill (b. 1843, d. 1867)
  6. William Haddrill (b. 1846, d. 1846)
  7. William Haddrill (b. 1848, d. 1930)

Hannah died in 1864 at the age of 59. She was buried at All Saints Anglican Church Cemetery, Upper Swan[4].
