Nellie Maude Reffell (married name Tymms) was born around 28 February 1900 in Islington, London, England, the daughter of Edith Maude (Morley) Reffell and Raymond Reffell.^[1]

She was christened on 1 May 1901 in East Twickenham, St Stephen, England.^{[citation needed]}

In 1911, aged 10, she arrived in Australia with her parents on the Wakool.^[2]

She married Lyn Oliver Tymms in 1925 in Victoria, Australia.^[3]

Nellie died in 1973 in Balwyn, Victoria, aged 73 years.^{[citation needed]}
