Rabina (also spelled Robina) was born in Glasgow on 21 February 1772. She was the third child and younger daughter of Peter Reid and Mary Bennett. [1] She had an older brother who died as a new-born infant on 14 March 1761 and an older sister, Margaret, born 10 August 1768.
Rabina was irregularly married to Malcolm Cowbrugh/Coubrough in November, 1784, in Glasgow. [2]
Rabina and her husband Malcolm are mentioned in the christening records of their three sons:
Robert in 1785[3]
Malcolm in 1790.[4]
Gavin in 1793.[5]
