Dorothy was born in 1922. She was the daughter of John Reid and Edith Greenlees.
She never married.
She passed away in 2014.
Dorothy E. Reid, 92, of Rockford completed her earthly journey and went to her eternal home Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Born Feb. 2, 1922, in Argyle, on the family farm, daughter of John and Edith Margaret (Greenlee) Reid. Employed by Rockford Life Insurance for 30 years. Volunteered at Rockford Public Library for 10 years. Lifelong member of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir. Member of the Mendelsohn Club and Martha-Ruth Circle. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and riding her bicycle.
Survivors include brother, Wilbur (JoAnne) Reid of Rockford; special aunt to Kathy Owens, Mary Gloeckner, John (Kim) Reid and Barbara (Kenneth) Amos; great-aunt to Sarah, Maren, Rebekah, Rachael, Jennifer, Anne, Alex, Jeanette, Kristin, Megan, Justin, Misty and Brock; great-great-aunt to 12 wonderful children.
Predeceased by parents.
Memorial service at noon Saturday, May 24, in Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, 7300 Argyle Road, with visitation from 11:30 a.m. to service time. Private burial in Scottish Argyle Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the church or Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., Loves Park.[1]
