Nancy was the daughter of James Reid and Nancy McLean.[1] Her parents were married on 30 June 1857 in Ahoghill, Ireland.[2]
She married James circa 1885. They were the parents of five children: Margaret, Thomas, James, John, and Matilda.[3]
Nancy and James immigrated to the U.S. in 1890, leaving their two oldest children (Margaret and Thomas) with Nancy's parents. They took their infant son James on the ship with him, and he died enroute to the U.S. Nancy and James were so distraught over his loss that they ended up leaving their oldest children overseas. They had two more children after their arrival to Chicago, Illinois.[4]
Nancy died on 20 Jan 1896 in Chicago and was buried at Oak Woods Cemetery.[5]
