Arnold Reid was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)

William Arnold Vivian Reid (called Arnold) was born in 1877 in Evelyn, Victoria, Australia, the son of Lucy (Ford) Reid and William Reid.^[1]

William Arnold Vivian Reid, farmer at Doreen, joined the 4th Victorian Imperial Bushmen/Australian Imperial Regiment (A.I.R.) (regimental number 246) and sailed from Port Melbourne on the "Victorian" on 1 May 1900 for South Africa.^[2][3]

He married May Reid on 15 September 1904 in Essendon, Victoria.^{[4][5][6][7][8]} Their children were:^[8]

• Adelaide Lucy Margaret Reid (1905–1996)
• Florence Vivienne Reid (1908?–?)
• Marie Reid (1912–?)
• Victor Robert Arnold Reid (1914–2006)

May died in 1943.^[8]

Arnold died on 29 June 1948 in Richmond, Victoria, aged 72 years.^[7][9]
