Biography

Esther was born in 1731. She passed away in 1790. Her parents were Hans Jakob Reiff (1694-1756) and Verena Veronica (MNU). She married John Scherer Burkholder about 1757 in Pennsylvania. They had 4 girls and 5 sons.

1. Barbara Burkholder (1758-1827); married John Ramer.

2. Christian Burkholder (1760-1779); died young.

3. John Burkholder (1761-1875); married Elizabeth Beinhauer.

4. Esther Burkholder (b. aft 1761); married Christian Wenger.

5. Ann Burkholder (b. aft 1761).

6. Barbara Burkholder (b. aft 1761); married John Romer.

7. Abraham Burkholder (1766-1835); married Elizabeth Barbara Lehman.

8. Jacob Burkholder (1768-1832); married Maria Lehman (1767-1842).

9. Joseph Burkholder (1771-1826); married Maria Lehman (1773-1838).
