The "Return of a Birth" lists Rose's birth place as County Cavan, Ireland and her age as 34 at the time of her daughter's birth, making her born around 1884. Her husband, William J. McHale, worked as a teamster and was 41 at the time, having been born in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
There is, on Ancestry.com a parish register entry for a Rose Reilly, baptized on March 22, 1884 in Annagh, Cavan, Ireland, daughter of John and Mary Reilly. There are also at least three immigration records for a Rose Reilly, all seemingly born around 1884. Also on Ancestry.com are lots of Ireland census records showing John and Mary Reilly and their family, including Rose, in Mullaloughter, County Cavan, Ireland (available from the National Archives.) At the time of the 1901 census, Rose's siblings included Maryann (age 16), Bridget (age 13), Charles (age 11), Maggie (age 9), and John (age 6).
