Daniel and his wife Johanna immigrated to the United States in 1886, on the S.S. Waeslaud. He listed his age as 26, wife as 20, and they had their son Heinrich (Henry) age 3 with them, and infant daughter Dora. They left from Antwerp and arrived in June 1886. They traveled steerage class.
