Ivan Reitman, OC was a Canadian-Slovak film and television director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his comedy work, especially in the 1980s. He was the owner of The Montecito Picture Company, founded in 1998.
Notable films he has directed include Meatballs, Stripes, Ghostbusters, Twins, Kindergarten Cop, Dave, and Junior. Reitman also served as producer for such films as Animal House, Beethoven, Space Jam, and Private Parts.
Ivan was born 27 Oct 1946 in Komárno, Czechoslovakia, now Slovakia to parents Ladislav "Leslie" Reitman and Clara Raab. Both parents had survived the Holocaust.
Ivan passed away on 12 Feb 2022 at age 75 at his home in Montecito, California.[1] Burial details are unknown.[2]
