Biography

Hector was born 10 Jun 1892. He married in 1921.^[1] They lost a stillborn son 24 Mar 1933.^[2] They lost another son, Gaetan born 10 Apr 1932 and he died of pneumonia 20 Jul 1933.^[3]

He became a prosperous business owner/entrepreneur along HWY 17 corridor and the CP railway line. He cleared undeveloped land, and built and managed the Meadow Inn in Meadowside, Ontario. He was widowed in 1964 and remarried. When he died in 1977, he had a procession by the Chevaliers de Colomb.^[4] He is buried in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario.^[5]

Research Notes

• His daughter Carmen said that he was an Ojibway Indian as was his mother. Father unknown. He lived in Sturgeon Falls, but moved to Meadowside because of his love of the outdoors. He built the restaurant on Hwy 17 and later the Meadowside Inn. She said he was a very demanding father especially with the boys.^[6].
• His second wife was a Leblanc.
