Biography

Charles François Renaud was born at Gros Pin, 3 February 1720, son of Michele Renaud and Marie Renée Reaume; and was baptized at St-Charles de Charlesbourg the next day—his godparents were Angélique Normand and Charles Larche.[1] François Reneaux died at Mascouche, L'Assomption parish, Quebec, 16 April 1792, epouse de Marie Catherine Cusson; and was buried in the cemetery of St-Henri de Mascouche, 18 April 1792, in the presence of Simon Dupras, Pierre Truchon, Denis Villeneuvre and "many others."[2]

He married at St-Charles de Lachenaie, 13 November 1741, Marie Catherine Cusson dite Desormiers, daughter of Jean-Baptiste Cusson dit Desormiers and Marguerite Rochereau. The witnesses were Michel Renaud, Joseph Renaud, Pierre Guillebault, Jean-Baptiste Cusson, and Antoine Cusson.[3]
