Biography

  • Arlene Renkema was born on January 17, 1943 in Grootegast. She is the daughter of William Renkema and Janice Boonstra. She emigrated with her parents and sisters to the United States coming across on the Waterman. They arrived in Hoboken, New Jersey on May 5, 1955. They took the train to Hudsonville Michigan where they stayed by her uncle Gary for a month till her parents bought a house in Hudsonville. At age 19 she married 28 year old Robert De Boer on September 21, 1962.
