Note from Find A Grave" Sarah was the daughter of James and Mary "Polly" (Owens) Rennick. She married Abraham Secrest on May 2, 1861. Abraham was the son of James and Sarah (Slater) Secrest. Sarah and Abraham lived in Jasper co. Missouri until about 1880 then moved to Pawnee Twp., Bourbon Co. Kansas. They had six children:
1. Felix G. Secrest, born in Jasper Co. Mo. on Apr.12, 1862 and died in Bourbon Co. Kan. on Apr.8, 1915. Married three times, 1st. Cora Donahue, divorced. 2nd. Sallie Alverson. 3rd.Fannie Crim. 2. Mary Jane Secrest, born in Jasper Co. Mo. on June 19, 1864 and died in Bourbon Co. Kan. in 1939. Married Lawrence Stephenson. 3. James Albert "Jim/Bert" Secrest, born in Jasper Co. Mo. on May 13, 1867 and died in Bourbon Co. Kan. in 1946. Married Nera Abrigail Dunbar born in Fayette Co. Ill. on May 16, 1876 and died in Bourbon Co. in 1947. 4. Charles William Secrest born in Jasper Co. Mo. on May 15, 1872 and died May 11, 1950 in Montgomery Co. Kan. Married Sarah Elizabeth "Sadie" Crim. She was born Mar.1, 1876 in LaFayette Co. Mo. and died in Montgomery Co. Kan. on Feb.2, 1897. She was the daughter of John and Hulda (Bates) Crim. 5. John Sherman Secrest, born in Jasper Co. on Aug.8, 1878 and died ? Married twice, 1st. to Daisy Munden and 2nd. to Laura Douglas, both marriages ended in divorce. 6. Thomas Sylvester Secrest, born Jan.27, 1882 and died c.1944. Married Rose Belle Allen, born Feb.4, 1888 and died ? Rose was the daughter of James and Martha (Bedingfield) Allen.
