The 1940 Census finds Milton and Angeline renting a rural home in Eau Pleine, Marathon County, Wisconsin. He was a truck driver for an oil company.[1]

Milton's parents are listed directly below his family. Perhaps he was renting a home on their farm which they owned.
In 1935 Milton lived in the "same place" while Angeline was living in Laono, Forest County, WI. She had an 8th grade education, and in the prior week had worked 70 hours. Milton had worked 60 hours in the last week. The income was listed at $650.

Milton C. Reno, 71, Route 2, Stratford, died at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Louis Cherney, route 1, Spencer.
He was born April 25, 1913 in St. Louis, MO., son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence G. Reno. He was married Feb. 6, 1939 in Laona to Angeline C. Sharnek, who died Feb. 23, 1984.
Mr. Reno moved to Stratford when he was 6 years old. He graduated from Stratford High School. He was with the Civilian Conservation Corp., at Blackwell from 1934 to 1936. After his marriage, he farmed in the town of Eau Pleine and also was a shop steward for 10 years at Roddis Co., Marshfield. He retired in 1975.
He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Stratford and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 1733.
Survivors besides his daughter, Marlene, include another daughter, Mrs. Brad (Anita) Catura, Beloit; three sons, Charles, Stratford, Robert, Marshfield and James, Wisconsin Raids; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Sawyer, Clintonville; 23 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were at 11 am Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Stratford. The Rev. Joseph A. Grassl officiated and burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, town of Eau Pleine. A parish Council of Catholic Women rosary was held at 3 pm Friday and a parish vigil at 7:45 Friday evening at the Sauter/Kundinger Funeral Home.
