Biography

Jantje married 1 Jacob Klaasz Groen.

Jantje married 2 Klaas Jacobsz Sop, the burgermeester (mayor) of Venhuizen, on Feb 17 1720. Children: Jacob, Trijn, & 3 others. They lived in Venhuizen.

Jantje was from Hem at the time of her marriage, but since her voogd (guardian) was from Wijdenes it's likely she was born there.

Jantje & Jacob wrote a testament dated Nov 11 1728 in Bovenkarspel. Jantje was sick at this time, so this was her will to divide her goods. Klaas appears in Neeltje's will in 1731. Jantje's will was read on Sept 5 1734. Listed are her husband, five children (only one is mentioned by name: Trijntje, who I believe chose who got which of their mother's clothes and jewels), her siblings Neeltje (deceased) and Klaas and brother-in-law Cornelis Hermansz Dekker. The odd thing is that Jantje married Klaas in 1720, was married to Jacob in 1728 and was married again to Klaas in 1734. Could they be the same person?
