Biography
Brave Boy Renty is a part of US Black heritage.
Brave Boy was born before 1841. He is the son of Lafayette Renty and Harriet Renty. Brave Boy is the name he is listed by on the Chemonie slaves list.[1] He was a slave on the Chemonie Plantation in Leon County, Florida, in 1841, when owned by George Noble Jones.
Renty may have been the surname of a previous enslaver of his father, Lafayette. It is the surname Lafayette used in 1841.[2] According to the naming conventions for the USBH Project on Wikitree, Renty was used as Brave Boy's LNAB also, and Jones as other last name.
Lafayette Renty was the head of a family grouping, with Harriet (presumably his wife), and children: Flora, Dick, Brave Boy and an infant.
