John was baptised on November 27, 1781 at Cockayne Hatley, Bedfordshire, the son of Sweatman Revel and Jane Dennis. [1]
He married Ann Howard on September 27, 1807 at Graveley, Cambridgeshire.[2]
In a census taken in Graveley on 26 Aug 1818 he is listed as - John Revell, married, parish clerk, 7 children, total in household 9.
They were living in Graveley, Cambridgeshire in 1841 - John Revell 59; Ann Revell 55; Jane Revell 25; Sweatman Revell 16; Ann Revell 4 (granddaughter-illegitimate daughter of Jane).[3]
He died on April 6, 1844 at the age of 63[4] and was buried at Graveley on April 9, 1844.[5]
