James Pack Reynolds was born in 1867, the son of John Henry Reynolds and Mary R E (Mollie) Hudson. He had a sister, Carrie, and brother Dock S Reynolds. His paternal grandfather was Patrick Reynolds, who went by "Pack" as a nickname, in some records. This is the source of his grandson's "Pack" middle name. Thus, it is possible that his actual middle name was really Patrick, or it could have been simply "Pack". HIs mother Mollie Reynolds died in March 1875, so he was also raised by his stepmother Nancy C Gill Farley, a widow of Thomas Farley.
His paternal grandmother, the wife of Patrick Reynolds (occasionally spelled Runnels in local records), was either Elizabeth Mann or Morris. The Reynolds and Manns share numerous DNA matches linked to Meriwether County, but her last name at birth appears closer to "Morris" than "Mann" in the county marriage record. The image and handwriting quality leave it open to interpretation.
He passed away in 1954.
