Rebecca was born about 1836. She was the daughter of Israel Reynolds and Sarah Whitney. She passed away about 1918. Rebecca was one of the first female Doctors to graduate (1861) from Penn Medical University She married her husband, Samuel Carey Longshore in 1856. She was also one of the first and only women who treated American Indians (Pawnee tribe). She traveled and lectured about her expertise abroad which was not common for women in that time. She and her husband, Samuel Carey Longshore had no children.
