Note NI582According to "Some Pioneers of Fulton County":
John Reynolds and his wife Rachel must have died somewhere near the Johnson Cemetery. His grave should be found and marked, as a soldier in the Revolution.
=========
On the 1800 Census of Panton Twp, Addison Co, VT, there are two John Reynolds listed. One seems to say John Reynolds Jr. That family has two small children: 1 boy and 1 girl. This is probably our John Reynolds, although I don't have a name for a girl born between 1790 and 1800. It is quite possible that there is another girl, who died soon after 1800. It is also possible that Ruth was in fact born in time to be counted on the 1800 Census. In any case, this implies that John's father's name was also John Reynolds.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
