Biography

Solomon Rhoads was born in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, in 1771. He migrated to Kentucky and married Nancy Bradley in 1795.[1]

Nancy had two children and died in 1796.[2]

Solomon next married Rachel Boone.[3]

In 1810, Solomon and his family were living in Greenville, Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. The household included ten free white persons and one slave.[4]

In 1820 they lived in Lewisburg, Muhlenberg County. The household included nine free white persons and three slaves.[5]

In 1830 they were still in Muhlenberg County. The household included ten free white persons and seven slaves.[6]

In 1840, still in Muhlenberg County, the household included four free white persons and eleven slaves.[7]

Solomon made a will in 1846 in which he named his wife Rachel, two sons Absalom and Nathan, and referred to several unnamed children and slaves. The Transcribed Will of Solomon Rhoads

He died in November 1849.
