Biography

Mrs. Mabel O. Blair, 84, of 505 Greenwood Dr., Grove City, died in Grove City Hospital at 11 a.m. yesterday after an illness. She was born in Slippery Rock June 12, 1880, to Wilbur and Elizabeth Gault Rhodes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark C. Blair. Mrs. Blair was a resident of Grove City for 56 years and for 32 years was matron of the Girls Colonial (Dorm) at Grove City College. She was a member of the Broad St. UP Church of Grove City and a charter member of the Grove City Women's Club. Surviving are, a daughter, Mrs. Francis (Edith) Simpson of RD 5; a brother, Dr. Harry A. Rhodes of Pasadena, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Bingham of Plain Grove; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Shelley-Dorr Funeral Home in Grove City by Rev. Robert Kelsey. Interment will be in Plain Grove Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home this afternoon and evening.^[1]
