Biography
David was born in Knottingley, Yorkshire 1819 & baptised David Rhodes, 18 July 1819, Knottingley, St. Botolph, Yorkshire the son of John Rhodes (carpenter) & Mary of Knottingley. [1]
With sisters Ann, Mary in 1841 living with parents in Chapel Street, Knottingley, Yorkshire. He worked as a ropemaker. [2]
The marriage of David Rhodes & Martha Abbott was conducted on 8 December 1844 Pontefract, St. Giles & St. Mary, Yorkshire. [3]
A ropemaker in 1861 living with wife Martha & children in Knottingley, Yorkshire. [4]
A widower & ropemaker in 1881 living in Back lane, Knottingley, Yorkshire. Daughter Margaret & son in law also in residence. [5]
