V1862436 39A/1862 RHODES JOSEPH B Father:- JOSEPH Mother:- FANNY , V1862436 39A/1862 The year of registration is suspect. Other sources all quote 1851 or 1852. By 1862 Joseph was back in New Zealand running the Clive Grange estate. The IGI (Southwest Pacific)seems to attribute the parents as John Whittaker Rhodes and Sophia Ravenhill but these are entries by a member of the church (sealing and endowments for the dead) with no source quoted. The census returns for 1851 and 1861 show John & Sophia resident in Doncaster, England so this seems very unlikely.
