I have checked on the spelling. The earliest records from Pasquotank and Camden spelled the name Rhodes. When Miles, Sr. went to Indiana, he seems to have changed the spelling to Rhoades. My grandmother went back to the original spelling, so that is what I have used.

Interesting about the headstone. My father always used the spelling Rhodes for his mother's family.

Rhodes-5929 and Rhoades-870 appear to represent the same person because: These two profiles have the same birth dates and are the father of the same daughter. Rhoades is the correct spelling of the last name.
