Biography
James was born in 1711 at Warwick, Rhode Island, the son of Malachi Rhodes and Dorothy Whipple.[1]
He married Sarah Westgate, daughter of Sylvanus, at Warwick on 22 February 1732-3.[2]
James passed away in 1797 at Pawtuxet.[3] He left a will[4] in which he names
- wife Martha
- sons Robert and Malacha
- grandsons James Rhodes son of Robert, Peleg Rhodes son of Malacha, and Silvester Rhodes son of Silvester
- eight unnamed granddaughters
The maiden name of his wife Martha at this time is unknown.
