Hi Deniise,

Thanks for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Collaboration with Pre-1700 Project members is essential for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because those ancestors are usually shared by many descendants.

It looks like the Canada Project would be a good fit based on your branch of WikiTree. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

Hi Denise

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. The Getting the Best from DNA page will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

I hope this helps! If you have any questions or problems, let me know.

Take care,

Mindy ~ WikiTree Volunteer Greeter

Hi Mindy, thank you for the note. I am lost. I thought when I got my results download from Ancestry DNA that I could upload it here but it was downloaded in a .txt file. I will have to see if I can get a different file format. I'll read up on this in there.

Hi Denise,

On WikiTree you don't upload your actual DNA. You add the kit number which will show up on your ancestors after about a day. There is a help page you can look at: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:WikiTree_Help:_Add_a_DNA_test_to_your_profile Let me know if you have other questions!

Hi Denise

As you have been a member of WikiTree for a few weeks now I thought I would check in to see how you are getting on with the site.

Has the New Member How-To been helpful or left you with any questions?

I am here to help with any problems or queries you may have. To contact me, reply to this comment, or click the link to my name and then send a private message or post a comment on my profile page.

Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Karen ~ WikiTree Messenger

Hi Karen, thank you for your greeting. Frankly, I work too much to make my experience here effective. I am migrating what info I have entered from family search as I like the fact that this site has so much help & so many great friends to make :)

I need to note my questions when I have them (in the middle of the night, jk) so I can remember to ask when I have the time! And I need to start at the beginning and read the new member and tutorials instead of rushing head on and getting lost in the info!

Take care and thanks for the note! Love your profile, you have a great sense of humor!

Hi Denise, and thank you, I like to add as much of myself as I can, so future generations will be able to see me, and not just words :-). We have not great expectations of members, we like people to take it at their own pace and add what they can when they can. I have made some really great friends here :-).

I am usually up quite late, so I hope they questions don't wake you up in the middle of the night and say "why didn't you ask about me". Making a note of them is a good idea, hopefully I will be able to answer them all ok

Take care karen

Thanks for signing the Honor Code, Denise! I hope you discover as much about your family as I have about mine over the last several years.

Check out the How-to pages for some quick tips on working with both the Wiki pages and our other members. There is some great information in those pages.

I would suggest starting with the How-to pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site

Happy tree climbing
