Biography

Elizabeth was born on 14 April 1853 at Condamine, Queensland, Australia to parents Abraham Rice and Mary Ann (Atkins) Rice.

She married William Hooper, a native of Cornwall, on 1 July 1868 at Copperfield, Queensland, Australia.

Elizabeth moved to Sydney with her 2 youngest children in 1912, after the death of her husband William in 1909.

She passed away on 8 April 1919 in Newtown, a suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.^[1]

Her death notice published says "The Relatives and Friends of the late Mrs ELIZABETH L HOOPER are invited to attend her Funeral; to leave her son-in-law's residence, Mr. A. Reece. 66 Erskineville-road, Newtown, THIS DAY, at 1:30p.m. for Methodist Cemetery, Rookwood, via Newtown station".^[2]

She was buried on 9 April 1919 at Rookwood Cemetery, Methodist. Section 2. Grave number 0000463, Sydney, Australia.
