Biography

Lewis was born in 1820. He was the son of Olney Rice and Amey Jenks. He married Elizabeth Lowe.[1][2] Their children were:

1. Lucelia M Rice Bailey 1848–1911
2. Franklin Rice 1850–
3. Louisa Rice 1852–
4. Jorelion Lewis Rice 1852–1918
5. Cora Rice 1857–
6. Fred S. Rice 1862–

Lewis and Elizabeth raised their children in Michigan.[3] Lewis is listed as the son of Olney F Rice and Amy Jenkes in the DAR publications.[4] He is also mentioned along with his brother John Rice as a taxpayer in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1844[5], the same location as his father Olney F Rice . Lewis moved to Colorado where he died in 1890. He is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Denver, Denver County, Colorado.[6]
