Thomas' birth is unclear, but (based on the 1841 census) is probably in the period 1757 to 1761 in Nottinghamshire. The only matching record currently identified is for a baptism on 8-Apr-1761 in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, with his mother listed as Ann Rice [1].
1790: On 29-Jun-1790, Thomas married Elisabeth Pole in Barton-In-Fabis and they appear to have then remained in Barton for the remainder of their lives. Thomas and Elisabeth had at least three children: Thomas jnr (1790), Mary (1798), and Catharine (1801).
1841: In the 1841 census [2], Thomas is listed as 80 years old, and living in Barton with his daughter Catharine Wright, son-in-law Thomas Wright, and several grandchildren: Elizabeth (15) and Isabella (13).
1847: A newspaper article in March 1847 records his death: "Recently, at Barton, Mr. Thomas Rice, aged 87 years" [3]. Thomas' death record has not been located.
