Biography

Ruth was born in Bennington, Vermont in 1796. She was the daughter of Moses Rice and Lydia Robinson. ^{[1] [2]}

Her family migrated to Smithfield in upstate New York around 1810. There she met Seth Marsh Jr., whose family had made a similar migration from New England. They married in 1813. ^[2] Their children were: ^[2]

They raised their children in Pembroke, Genesee, New York ^[3] before moving yet further west to Ann Arbor, Michigan. ^{[4] [5]} Ruth died in 1851 in Batavia, New York, while on a visit with relatives. ^[6] She is buried in nearby East Pembroke. ^[7]
