Biography
Elvin Paul (Shot Gun) Rice, 71, Phil Campbell, died Friday, Sept. 8, after an extended illness in Shoals Humana Hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 10, at Mt. View Baptist Church, Phil Campbell. The Rev. Sammy Taylor and the Rev. Gary McWhorter officiated the Masonic graveside services. Mr. Rice was a life long resident of Phil Campbell and member of the Phil Campbell Methodist Church. He was a retired steamfitter with T.V.A., member of the Steamfitter Local No. 760, Phil Campbell Masonic Lodge No. 880, order of the Eastern Star, Franklin Chapter No. 495, Cahaba Shrine Temple, Huntsville, Al. and charter member of the Franklin County Shrine.
